Michael Vaughn

Open LMS, Adoption and Education Specialist

Michael Vaughn is an Adoption and Education Specialist at Open LMS, where he helps LMS administrators and instructional designers effectively leverage learning tools and platforms. With over 15 years of experience in the field, Michael has served as an LMS trainer or administrator at public, private, and community college schools, and has helped clients develop and apply instructional technology skills. Michael is an accomplished speaker and presenter, having delivered trainings on a wide array of topics, including AI and ChatGPT, designing better presentations, core principles for accessible design, maker education, and improving DIY instructional video. He has also been a guest on several podcasts and webinars, sharing his expertise and insights with a wide audience. In addition to his work at Open LMS, Michael has made significant contributions to the field of education. He served on the Advisory Board for the REALISE Grant (REALising Inclusive Science Excellence in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics) at Radford University, which was a five-year program supported by a $1 million grant from the Howard Hughes Medical Institute. Michael also co-founded Elon University’s first makerspace, where he helped establish a grant program for student makers.
