Board Positions Available

Serving on the ATD Rocky Mountain Chapter Board provides you with an unparalleled opportunity to contribute and shape the direction of the Chapter. Board leaders serve one-year teams, and are expected to actively participate in monthly Board meetings, Chapter events and planning meetings during the term year. The President Elect serves a three-year term to succeed the current President, then to serve as Past President for one year.

Joining the leadership of ATD Rocky Mountain Chapter is an excellent way to enhance your professional development, build you network within the talent development community and broaden your understanding of the latest industry trends. In addition to giving back to your local Chapter, volunteering at this leadership level also offers you access to valuable new executive contacts and to contribute to the larger talent development community.

To nominate yourself for a Board position for the 2018 calendar year, please email the following to the ATD RMC President at president@atdrmc.org.

    • One-page cover letter siting the role you seek, a brief explanation of your background (skill set and experience) that qualifies you for the position and a brief biographical statement.
    • A current copy of your resume or CV.
    • Two professional references.

2018 Board Positions Available

Vice President of Volunteer Engagement - Available immediately

Manages the overall Volunteer engagement function for the chapter including recruiting, matching, encouraging, and recognizing volunteers. You will identify areas of need for volunteers to support the chapter. Grow and retain chapter members through volunteer engagement.

      • Develop annual volunteer objectives.
      • Research other professional organizations for ideas on how they approach managing volunteers.
      • Maintain list of volunteers who have expressed an interest in volunteering but have not yet been contacted or matched with a volunteer need.
      • Maintain a list of both unmet and met Board member volunteer needs.
      • Create an “intake checklist” (i.e. a list of skills & interests, available time, etc.) for volunteers to complete.
      • Create a spreadsheet/database of volunteer and volunteer needs demographic data (e.g., name, contact details, volunteer interests, volunteer need & requirements, etc.).
      • Develop end-to-end process from attracting volunteers through volunteers being matched with volunteer needs.
      • Establish system for tracking volunteer involvement.
      • Provide a report on volunteer activities at monthly Board meeting.
      • Maintain and update records relevant to position for benefit of successor.
      • Before end of Board term, recommend at least two potential candidates for the position.
      • Train successor in duties for this position during transition period prior to successor’s term of office.
      • Support and promote chapter affiliation requirements (CARE), and the strategic objectives and action plans of the chapter.
      • Represent the chapter professionally and ethically in all business functions/organizational activities.
      • Participate in other chapter events, committee meetings, and regional conferences as available.
