ATD Rocky Mountain Chapter
Partner Event
Join the Denver Metro E-Learning Developers (DMELD) on November 9, 2017 from 7:00-8:30 pm with Anders Gronstedt, Ph.D. presenting "Next-gen Simulations, Games and Virtual and Augmented Reality Learning."
How do you develop the next generation of learners who have spent more time with video games than in school? How do you bring immersion, engagement, and presence to new levels? And how do you leverage the new generation of virtual and augmented reality. Packed with demos and case studies, this session will cover trends that will reshape learning:
- Micro-learning and performance support developed on Apple ARKit and Google ARCore.
- Sales and cyber security games that level up to increasingly more difficult tasks to keep players focused and engaged.
- Online video dramatizations with powerful plots and colorful characters who face adversity, which transform cultures.
- Virtual reality simulations with headsets and positional tracking so you can physically walk around and interact with hand-held controllers to practice any technical task that’s too dangerous, expensive, or inconvenient to do in real life.
Watch demos of executive sales skills taught in Mission-Possible-themed games, cyber-security skills taught in a Tower Defense-style game, and customer empathy taught in a virtual reality simulation with room-scale and hand-controllers. Learn to shift your classroom mindset to a consumer-app mindset. Integrate your learning into employees’ lives with programs that are relevant, immersive, and memorable.
This session will demonstrate how serious games, simulations, virtual and mixed reality are poised to forever change the way people learn and organizations teach.
