Hurricane Harvey
My heart goes out to those affected by Hurricane Harvey on the Gulf Coast. I can't imagine what they must be going through, in some cases, being wet and with only the clothes they have on. Let's pull together in this time of need to help in any way we can and help make a difference. I encourage those who can to help with Hurricane Harvey relief efforts to join us at or call 1-800-SAL-ARMY, or text STORM to 51555.

Upcoming Events
On another note, you won't want to miss this month's two terrific events. We look forward to meeting you first-timers, guests, new members, and our wonderful members and volunteers.

First, we have our annual joint networking event on Wednesday, September 6, with the International Coaching Federation (ICF) of Colorado. You will enjoy the lovely setting at the Lakewood Country Club. This is sure to be a fun event. Come ready to network or just come to meet and chat with us. As an added bonus, we have head-shots by Thomas Toth, who is offering his services at a much reduced cost.

Second, we have a lunch-time meeting with Ryan Osmond presenting on Thursday, September 28 titled, "Moved by the Message: Increasing Employee Engagement Using Story." Using stories helps learners develop critical thinking skills and deeper cognition in addition to extending memory.

2018 Planning
Jean Eckhoff, President Elect, is ramping up for her 2018 Board of Directors. Would you like to nominate yourself for a volunteer board role? Check out the open opportunities at Volunteer Opportunities. Our new Director of Volunteer Engagement, Jeannie Clinkenbeard, will be happy to help you navigate your path. You may contact Jeannie at

Programming & Membership
Our 2018 VP of Programming, Ivelise Zambrano-Herrera, who earned her CPLP certification this year, is busy getting our programs planned for next year. If you haven't had a chance to complete our annual member survey, please do asap. Eric Savickas, VP of Membership has worked hard on this year's Member Survey in order to hear what you want and need from your membership. The survey will take you approximately 10 minutes or less to complete and consists of five parts:
  • Demographic Information
  • Member Satisfaction
  • Programming Preferences
  • Chapter Communications
  • Final Thoughts

For your convenience, here's a link to the Member Survey. Thanks for your input and feedback!

We really would like to hear from you about what you need as a member of ATD Rocky Mountain Chapter and how we may continue to serve you and our community better.

Congratulations to Joanne Peterson, one of our many wonderful, loyal and committed volunteers. She won the complimentary Essentials course offered by ATD (Chapter recognition award). We utilized this complimentary opportunity as a thank you in a drawing for all of our active volunteers. She qualified to be entered into the drawing by volunteering for a least three events May through August.

Last, but certainly not least, a BIG "Thank You" to all of our fabulous member volunteers. We couldn't do what we do without you. We appreciate your time and efforts to help make Rocky Mountain Chapter a success.

I hope to see you soon at one of our events. If you would ever like to chat, please don't hesitate to contact me at
