Summer is in full swing as we are trying to stay cool. Speaking of cool, we have a new CPLP (Certified Professional in Learning and Performance), Ivelise Zambrano-Herrera. Congratulations to Ivelise for earning the prestigious CPLP certification through ATD last month! Without missing a beat, Ivelise has joined the chapter's Board as co-VP Programming. She is replacing Jean Eckhoff, who is our new President Elect. Jean will be in a dual role as Ivelise is onboarding for the next couple of months. Congratulations to you both on your new roles!
The next cohort of the CPLP virtual study group kicks off in July. This will be our third cohort for 2017. Our VP CPLP Study Groups, Shannon Wzientek, CPLP is leading the way as this Special Interest Group (SIG) continues to grow. Rocky Mountain Chapter is being noticed as other chapters send their interested participants our way. We even have international participants!
Did you know that Rocky Mountain Chapter offers a CPLP Scholarship each year for eligible chapter members? This scholarship is for an active chapter member who is pursuing the CPLP certification. For more information, see https://www.atdrmc.org/CPLP_Scholarship/.
The Facilitator's Exchange SIG has their next meeting this month. See the chapter's Events page for details.
The Executive Advisory Council launched in April with an informal meet-and-greet event. In June, we had the first council meeting of the year to discuss how we might move forward to meet the needs of the Denver metro area's talent development needs for professional development. Look for more information on this initiative in the coming months.
We are planning a picnic for our July event. This is sure to be fun and a great opportunity for networking. I hope to see you at this event.
I look forward to chatting with each of you at one of our many upcoming events. Stay connected and get plugged in.
Yvonne Bogard, CPLP
2017 Chapter President
