Dear ATD Rocky Mountain Chapter Members,

I am pleased to serve as your Rocky Mountain Chapter president for 2017. The chapter had a strong year in 2016 under Robin Doss' leadership. As we move forward in this year, we have strong leadership with returning and new Board members who have a lot of fresh ideas. We want to collaborate with you to make 2017 a chapter success that meets your needs. Our vision is to help create a world that works better. Rocky Mountain Chapter is an award-winning community of leaders in talent development that engages, inspires, and connects with our professional members and engages with our volunteers to promote best practices in our industry.

We have started our first of three Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP) virtual study group cohorts for 2017. This CPLP study group continues to grow nationally and internationally. Something new for 2017 is a renewed focus on Community Relations. This new chapter initiative is kicking off first quarter and will focus on determining the strategic needs of the Denver-area talent development community, which of course, is you. Nate Singsen, VP of Community Relations will lead this initiative to provide the chapter with guidance on effective measures to address those needs. The chapter's leadership team has several returning Board members to help keep our momentum going and growing from last year. We have four new Board members joining the chapter's leadership in team for Programming (Jean Eckhoff), Sponsorships (Shawn Evans), Technology (Ginger Nichols) and Membership (Eric Savickas). We would like to challenge you in 2017 to engage more with your chapter and talent development community. We need you and would like to connect with you and help you connect with others. Stephanie Lang, VP of Communications and Social Media can help with that.

Our Past President, Robin Doss, delivered her baby on New Year's Day! What a way to kick-off the new year. Before she delivered her baby, she "delivered" the chapter's annual report for our membership. Rocky Mountain Chapter received awards and recognition under her leadership with the help from our VP of Finance, Megan Flori, CPA who provides strong financial management support. For highlights see the link on the chapter's home page. We are grateful to Michele Padilla, our former Past President, to step in and support the chapter during first quarter while Robin is busy with her bundle of joy.

The Board welcomes you to a new and exciting 2017. Come be a part of the new ways the chapter is engaging our Denver metro community. To get involved, contact Sue Fody, VP of Volunteer Engagement.
