2016 has been a great year so far for ATD-RMC. Thank you for being a huge part of the chapter’s success!
Chapter membership has grown by nearly 20% to 225 members and we’ve been seeing lots of new faces at our monthly meetings; what a great network! More and more members are also getting involved with volunteering. Thank you to all of our wonderful volunteers for everything you do. ATD-RMC wouldn’t be what it is without you! Volunteering is a great way to get to know other members better, deepen your connections, and expand your learning and development network. Contact Sue Fody at email@example.com to find out how you can get involved.
2016 has been yet another award winning year for our chapter! We have already been recognized for one Share Our Success award for the wonderful CPLP virtual study group created and launched by president-elect, Yvonne Bogard. We also won a Chapter Excellence Award for Excellence in Advancing the Profession through CPLP for the same program. And we recently found out that the Rocky Mountain Chapter will be named as the August 2016 Chapter of the Month! This is a huge honor that chapters are only eligible for once every 24 months; the Rocky Mountain Chapter won this award two years ago in September of 2014.
This year, we were granted the Chapter of the Month award for a fabulous Share Our Success that 2014 president Becky Magnotta submitted in late 2015. This was for a best practice she instituted during her presidency around bringing an outside accountant to the VP of Finance role – which is normally so difficult to fill by those of us in Talent Development! The practice has made chapter finances that much easier, and it has expanded our membership to include professionals who wouldn’t otherwise necessarily become a part of the chapter. We’re thrilled to have Megan Flori in that role now, and to have had Sid Basu in that role 2014-2015. Thank you for instituting such a great practice, Becky!
These awards are great recognition for the chapter, and encourage us to keep striving for success. Another benefit is that they bring financial rewards, as well. This is wonderful because it allows us to expand our programming and offer more member benefits. We added two extra free events this year so far in addition to our regular programming schedule; the ICE Networking Happy Hour and the Get to Know Your Chapter Picnic. Another member benefit that comes from these awards is that we will be providing a CPLP scholarship for the next CPLP cohort. Details about this added benefit can be found on our website: http://www.atdrmc.org/CPLP_Scholarship.
In the world of programming, we have a lot of exciting upcoming events. We hope to see you for our annual August professional networking event with the International Coaching Federation and the National Speaker Association on August 23 at the Lakewood Country Club. Then the fall will kick off our fall leadership series, with three sessions in September, October, and November dedicated to leadership and leadership development. For more information on those, and other upcoming virtual programming in addition to our monthly programming, visit our upcoming events calendar: http://www.atdrmc.org/Upcoming-Events.
Here's to a great rest of 2016, ATD-RMC members! We hope to see you at an event soon.
