March started with an energetic meeting of nine Past ASTD-RMC Presidents, current board members and several new members as we discussed how to build community, provide you with value for your membership, and keep your organization strong into the future. I am grateful and energized by all who joined us. You are a symbol of our vibrant community.
This group gave the board great ideas to review. As we work through the ideas, we'll be putting out ideas and requests to continue the 2014 momentum. Please join our LinkedIn ASTD-RMC Chapter Member Group to be a part of this energy.
Our community is growing! We've had a 6% increase in members since the beginning of the year. Welcome to all of our new members! I'd also like to introduce you to two new board members.
Sid Basu was elected unanimously as Chapter Treasurer. He will help us maintain the financial health and smart stewardship of our funds so we can bring you vibrant programming and benefits to being a member.
Robin Doss joins us as Vice President of Professional Development. Robin has been a member and engaged volunteer, and we look forward to her professionalism as we put together programming that meets your needs. You can contact her at RDoss@astdrmc.org.
You can read more about Sid and Robin under the About tab and select Chapter Leadership option.
Our calendar continues to build. We have events where we learn from each other and some of the bigger names in the ASTD Community. The line up includes experiential learning in our second annual Activity Summit in March. On April 17 ,you'll be JimPacted when Jim Smith, Jr. gives an energetic keynote on being authentic and no excuses. On May 1, Lou Reed will give us tools on Project Management for Learning Professionals.
Besides robust programming, we are introducing more value to being an ASTD-RMC member. Members can attend our webinars at no charge, and receive discounts for events with affiliate organizations. Coming soon, we are joining the Denver Chamber of Commerce, which means as a member of ASTD-RMC, you receive Denver Chamber member benefits.
Watch for more information on our website and in LinkedIn. Also, please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any concerns or requests. You can email me at BMagnotta@astdrmc.org.
Thank you for being our community. We hope to see you at a future event, and on-line.
