Meet Kara Sand, September Program Speaker on the Power of Purpose.
Kara, how did you become focused on purpose-driven leadership and team development?
I believe that we each have a purpose(s) in life. I was fortunate to have mentors early on in my career that encouraged and inspired me to explore my identity. My journey to understanding my values and vision ignited a passion to help others. My job allows me to guide leaders and teams so they too can uncover their life purpose and align it with their career goals. No matter what you do or where you are in life, you can live out your purpose in each moment.
Are there misconceptions about purpose that you frequently encounter?
Many people believe that you only have one purpose in life. Depending on the person, that may or may not be true. You may find that you uncover your purpose and then it evolves as you change and grow through life. And that is perfectly fine! There are no hard rules when it comes to your purpose!
Are you willing to share a fun fact about yourself?
I love to meditate! I find that when I am grounded, calm, and connected, I can more gracefully navigate life – and enjoy it. Meditation has benefited me so much that I want to share it with the world! I created a YouTube channel, Serenity Meditation with Kara, where you’ll see short guided visualization videos.
